Welcome to Rapid Renewal!!

Rapid Renewal is a new service that makes it possible for you to renew your motor vehicle registration with the State of Maine and to pay your local excise tax to the Town of Bowdoinham in one simple online transaction.

You should receive your new registration certificate and decals within 7 business days from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. If your registration will expire within 7 days, and you are planning to travel out-of-state with your vehicle, you may wish to renew your registration in person at the municipal office or the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Who Can Use This Service?

The Rapid Renewal service is available only to registrants who live in a participating municipality. To find out if your town or city is part of the program please view the list of municipalities.

Registrations for both passenger and commercial vehicles can be renewed online. However, "for-hire", island use, emergency/coach, buses, vehicles over 12,000 pounds GVW, apportioned, special mobile equipment, tractors, municipal and state vehicles must be renewed in person.

Payment may be made by Electronic Check.

To use this service, you will need:

• Your current vehicle registration
• Your insurance card
• Your vehicle's current mileage
• A printer
• A check or deposit slip with your bank's routing/transit number and your account number
