Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation

The Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation ("OPOR"), (formerly known as the Office of Licensing and Registration) is an umbrella agency consisting of 37 professional and occupational licensing boards and licensing programs administered by a staff of 57 employees. OPOR protects the public against unqualified, incompetent and unethical practitioners through licensure, establishment of practice standards, inspection, complaint investigation and, when warranted, imposition of professional discipline.
