To Door Home Repair Seller

Description
Door to
door home repair seller means a person, partnership, corporation,
business trust or other legal entity registered by the Department
of Professional and Financial Regulation that sells or provides
home repair services. That person must be registered if directly
contacting consumers, other than at the seller's permanent place
of business, without the consumer soliciting the initial contact.
A door to
door home repair seller must be registered if they fix, replace,
alter, convert, modernize, improve or make an addition to real
property that is primarily designed or used as a residence.

Application;
- Completion
of criminal conviction question by indicating yes or no,
and submission of documentation that lists date(s) and
crime(s) and submit a copy of the court judgment(s). If
your answer is "Yes" you cannot file your renewal application
electronically. You must mail the completed renewal application
and the necessary fees along with a copy of the court
judgment. You must also submit a letter listing the date
of the conviction, the crime committed, and explaining
the circumstances surrounding the conviction:
- A
person who submits an application for renewal after October
31 is subject to all requirements governing new applicants
and is required to reapply with original registration
application, documentation and fees;
- Credit
Card authorization of payment of renewal fee(s);
- Renewal
applications are mailed approximately 30 days prior to
the license expiration date. It is the registrant's responsibility
to keep the Office informed of the current registration
address and/or to see that the registration is renewed
absent the renewal application.

Our Purpose
Registration
of Door-to-Door-Home Repair Sellers was established to provide
for regulation of persons offering home repair services to a consumer,
to safeguard the public health, safety and welfare, and to protect
the public from incompetent and unauthorized persons in the State
of Maine.
The
primary responsibilities of the Office are to review the credentials
of qualified applicants for registration as Door-to-Door-Home
Repair Sellers , to promulgate rules as necessary, investigate
complaints and take appropriate disciplinary action for noncompliance
of current laws and rules.
